Biography
Laila is currently completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) at Robert Gordon University, Scotland, with graduation anticipated in May 2026. Her DPT topic is on the Management of Long Covid in Children and Young People.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health (US) from Mercer University (cum laude, 2022) and undertook her pre-DPT studies at Baylor University and Doha College. Laila has gained hands-on clinical experience through placements at Dundee United Football Club, Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha, and the Mercer University Sports Medical Center, as well as a specialist therapy internship at Awsaj Academy for children with special needs.
Born in Kuala Lumpur and raised across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States, Laila brings a multicultural perspective and fluency in English, Slovak, and Czech (with conversational German) to her patient-centered practice. As a former NCAA Division I golfer, she has a deep understanding of athletic performance, biomechanics, and injury prevention at the elite sports level. Her academic honours include multiple All-American Scholar awards and repeated inclusion on the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll .
Within physiotherapy her interests lie within strength and conditioning for golfers, sports psychology and neurological conditions. Outside of physiotherapy she enjoys golf, swimming, and classical music.

Swimming and the sauna have been my go-to activities for a while, as I can’t bring my phone with me! Foggy goggles also make sure I completely zone out the world and focus on my breathing.
