Joint Pain and Arthritis

Arthritis is a broad term for over 100 different conditions with common symptoms of pain, swelling, or stiffness in your joints. With arthritis you will often feel stiff in the morning, and a feeling of rigidity in your joints throughout the day.

Arthritis will likely reduce your range of motion, make you feel stiff, and a grinding/clicking feeling in your joints.

This is where we can help.

A thorough assessment and clear plan will help us to empower you return to pain free living. We focus on returning your range of motion with exercises and hands-on treatment – massage, acupuncture, and mobilisations. We then progress to strengthening to give you the tools to maintain your improved range of motion and function.

Sciatica and Nerve Pain

Sciatica refers to pain and irritation that travels along the sciatic nerve – from the lower back down the whole leg. This can result in changes in sensation in the leg, from: pins and needles, tingling, numbness, and burning sensations. Sciatica can happen even without lower back pain.
Sciatica can occur anywhere along the nerve pathway. Sciatica is usually the result of a disc herniation, inflammation, or boney growths that puts pressure on the nerve. It is very common and often easily treatable.
Nerve pain, similar to sciatica, can occur anywhere else in the body. The most common version of nerve pain originates from the neck. Similar to sciatica, if the nerve is impinged at the neck it can radiate pain, pins and needles, burning, or electric-like shocks, down the arm and upper back.
If you experience any of these symptoms follow this rule: If it lasts more than 3 days seek help. We are the ones who can help. Our team has a wealth of experience dealing with nerve pain, especially sciatica, and do regular training to ensure they are up-to-date with how to assess and treat this condition.
We have several ways of treating your sciatica and nerve pain, a mixture of physiotherapy, acupuncture, and sports massage, can all help. Contact us today to see how we can help!

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Hypermobility Syndrome are characterised by joint hypermobility, skin elasticity, and tissue fragility. With EDS people often experience chronic pain, brain fog, fatigue, and instability due to reduced proprioception. We aim to help you with that.

In ER Physiotherapy we aim to treat EDS and hypermobility syndrome, with an evidence-based patient-led approach. Using NICE guidelines we produce personalised care specific to what you want to achieve – EDS does not have to hold you back, and with careful management we can get you back to feeling more like you again.

Our goal is to build resilience within you, improve your control, and reduce your pain with clear step-by-step plans
